Cassie Houlden is an Associate Director in the Sheffield office and has 15 years’ experience in the economic development sector, having worked for ekosgen since the company was established in 2002. She is one of the company’s most experienced project managers and has delivered successful projects for clients including local authorities and Local Enterprise Partnerships, government departments, national charities and major property developers. Cassie’s key areas of expertise are in the development and evaluation of economic development strategies, plans and projects, as well as economic analysis and impact assessment. She works across all parts of the business, on projects ranging from business support and innovation, to social enterprise and learning and skills.
Over the past year Cassie has worked closely with the D2N2 LEP to update its economic evidence base and develop its Strategic Economic Plan. She has estimated the potential economic impact of developments ranging from remediation of brownfield land to the establishment of a world-leading innovation park focussed on the ageing population. She contributed to the Sheffield City Region Independent Economic Review, leading on the education and skills element of the work, and has supported a number of LEPs in the development and quantification of their 2014-2020 European Structural and Investment Fund strategies, as well as evaluating a range of current EU-funded projects and programmes.
