Skills in Lancashire: Supply of Comprehensive Evidence Base

ekosgen was commissioned by Lancashire County Council, on behalf of the Lancashire Skills and Employment Hub, to undertake a comprehensive analysis of the evidence base relating to skills and employment in the Lancashire LEP area.  The analysis reviewed the economic, labour market, education and skills context; examined demand for labour and implications of future employment forecasts; and analysed the current and future supply of labour and skills.  The performance of the education and skills system within Lancashire was reviewed, and alignment of provision with LEP priorities and future growth sectors was explored.  The findings fed into a major consultation with local skills and training providers about future provision, and influenced the design of the next round of ESF funding for workforce skills.
